Above 160 gene sequences submitted to GenBank maintained by US National Centre for Biotechnology Information as part of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration have been contributed by the Department of Biotechnology, Sindhu Mahavidyalaya.
These genes include:
o Glucokinase isoform 1 related to familial diabetes (MODY 2) from Sakoli population
o 16S rDNA for identification of Human Microbiome (Human flora of skin and oral)
o 16S rDNA sequences isolated from river, sewage and clinical samples through genomic and metagenomic approach
o Antibiotic Degrading Gene Sequences (CTX, blaoxa-2) and Xenobiotic Degrading Gene Sequences (dmpl, tfdAα and amoA)
100% result in M. Sc. in last 6 years
More than twenty pass-outs of M. Sc. Biotechnology have joined integrated MS-Ph.D. program in the Universities of USA, UK and Australia.
