A step for “Resurgence” in the field of
Education and Research
Participation in organizing international conference
The present scenario of education in the nation needs resurgence so as to
make it inclusive as well as globally competitive.
Bharatiya
Shikshan Mandal (BSM) is a
colloquium
, working in the
Education domain for awakening patriotism, nationalism and transforming “future
generation” into “future Nation
”
. BSM has five dimensional functional
verticals: Research, Awareness, Training, Publication and Organization. The BSM
has come out with an idea of organizing an international conference with the
theme ‘Research for Resurgence’ , most relevant to need.
The main aim of
the international Conference was to initiate a paradigm shift in research orientation
so as to make it indigenous, holistic, integrated, meaningful and would
contribute towards the betterment of the society by its applicability.
The
conference was co-hosted with 5 universities from vidharbha and 2 premier
national institute NEERI & VNIT. Dada Ramchand Bakhru Sindhu Mahavidyalaya
has privileged to become Academic Partner in this movement. This was a
visionary decision, leading strong
footprint in the direction of collaboration and association in the field of
research in the years to come.
The opening year encompasses two events:
1 a workshop in institute campus and
2 organizing international conference at VNIT.

A ceremonial MoU
signing program between DRB Sindhu Mahavidyalaya & BSM was organized in the
institute Auditorium, on 20th Aug 2015 in presence of Honourable
Vice chancellor Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Dr. S.P. Kane.
The ceremony was followed by a daylong workshop on ‘Concept of Research &
Resurgence’.
On this occasion Honourable Vice chancellor Dr. S.P.
Kane, emphasized on lacking social and national relevance in research. He said
“it’s high time to come together and device objectives and modalities of
research”. He appreciated the efforts and vision of SHVS management along with
principal for the proposal. Earlier Honourable Vice chancellor was felicitated
by offering shawl and shrifal at the hands of Shri H.R. Bhakhru, President,
SHVS. He witnessed maiden MoU signing ceremony between Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal
and D.R.B. Sindhu Mahavidyalaya for academic association. Dr. Aravind Joshi
signatory for BSM introduced Shikshan Mandal’s working while Dr. K.J. Cherian
signatory for DRB Sindhu illuminated contributions of institute in the society
and academics. Chairman SHVS, Dr. Vinky Rughwani appreciated need of ‘paradigm
shift’ in research mind-set and extended complete support for conference.
In the interactive workshop
Dr. Ujjwala Chakradeo, convener on international conference illustrated
particulars while Shri. Mukul Kanitkar enthralled more than 40 participants on
‘Education & Research’. The faculty members from DRB Sindhu expressed their
views wholeheartedly and session ended with step towards ‘Change’. Shri H. R.
Bakhru in presidential address cherished motto behind pre-conference &
conference. He assured co-operation for ‘together working on the noble issue’
not only for the conference but in extended domains.
The programme was
compared by Dr. Rajkumar Khapekar and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.
Vishwajit Pendsey. Faculty members Dr. Kasbekar, Dr. Jisnani, Dr. Shinkhede,
Dr. Hate, Dr. Bhute, Dr. (Mrs.) Poddar, Dr. Kashmiri, Dr. Sonarghare, Dr. Mankar and team IQAC worked
hard for the success of the program.
International conference:
The conference received overwhelming
response with more than 530 participants, 45 vice-chancellors, policy makers and representative
of corporate sectors covering entire India and 9 other nations. The conference was organized on 11th , 12th
& 13th February 2016 at VNIT, Nagpur where DRB Sindhu
Mahavidyalaya was Academic partner.
On day 1, four parallel pre-conference symposia;
‘Naipunya-The researchers workshop’,
‘Sthapati- Indigenous
Architecture’ in association with Council of Architects (India), ‘Manas- Indian
Psychology Vision & Reach’ in association with Canadian Academic Partner
&
‘Udyam- Symposium for Industry-Academia collaboration’ in association
with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
Most innovative event,
‘Udyam’, aspired to bring Industry and Academia together
for a healthy discussion and evolve a long term productive road map for
Industry academia collaboration. Mr. Ajay Mundhada, Vice- Principal presented
institutes vision during interaction. Brainstorming session featured eminent
panellists,
R Gopalakrishnan – Director of TATA Sons Ltd and Rajeev
Modi Chairman and Managing Director of Cadila Pharmaceuticals.
Prominent views of Mr.
Kiron Shah, Managing
Director and CEO Velankani Group, Mr. Ramesh Kallidai, Ex Director Fujitsu
Consulting India was inspiring and motivational.
The conference was
inaugurated at the hands of Hon. Union Minister for Human Resource and
Development Smt. Smiriti Irani and Hon.
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis. Eminent educationalist
Dr. Aniruddha Deshpande has delivered key note address.

DRB Sindhu
Mahavidyalaya was privileged to organize first session on 12th Feb
2016, termed Aahuti 1. The session featured
invited scholarly presentations of Shri Prakash Jawdekar on ‘Innovations in
Education’ and Shri Madhave Chitale ‘Societal Participation in Research’.
Shri. Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister for
Environment, forest and climate change was welcomed & felicitated at the
hands of Shri. H.R. Bakhru, President SHVS. The second presenter Shri Madhav
Chitale, Prominent Irrigation expert was welcomed & felicitated at the
hands of Shri. I.P. Keswani, General Secretary SHVS. The session was conducted by Dr. Rajkumar
Khapekar.

The team of faculty
members from Sindhu Mahavidyalaya had long interactions with Dr. Madhavan Nair,
Ex director ISRO, Shri S. Gurumurthy economist and corporate advisor, Dr D. P.
Singh Chairman NAAC. The team elaborated
efforts and success level of Sindhu Mahavidyalaya in the direction of quality
education, ISR and research. Team also recorded suggestions for excellence. Dr. K. J. Cherian monitored every step and
promoted institute as “progressive & only one of its kind” on the
international platform. The institute shares responsibility of Quality
research, participation of students in research and will conduct post
conferences on various aspects in years to come.
